Title: Sr. User Experience Designer (UX Designer)

Duration: 6 months w ability to extend
Location: North Chicago, IL



Locals Preferred - Hybrid position

Description:

UX Generalist with strong understanding of all UX activities - from user 
research and requirements through testing and continuous improvement. Works 
collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team with Business and IT. 
Translates business requirements into simple and intuitive user interfaces 
across platforms (desktop, tablet, mobile). Develops good working relationships 
and trust with business stakeholders and developers. Takes ownership of 
projects to ensure success.

This is a key position within a small UX team that supports Pharmaceutical 
client's R&D business. When needed, you may be asked to take on a leadership 
role, for example, leading UX workshops with stakeholders, facilitating 
stakeholder and user research.

Specific Responsibilities
* User Research / User Testing
* User Requirements
* Journey Mapping
* Personas
* Information Architecture
* User Flows
* Iterative Wireframing (low to high fidelity)
* Content and Visual Design Direction
* Administrative
o Advise, coach, mentor others on team
o Project estimating and budgeting

Qualifications
* Passion for simple, engaging, intuitive UI design
* Deep knowledge of UX best practices and trends
* Degree in HCI, information science, design, communications, or related field
* Strong communication, collaboration and team building skills
* Agile: easily adaptable to shifting priorities, comfortable working on 
multiple projects at once


* Years of experience/education and/or certifcations required: 5+
* What are the top 3-5 skills requirements should this person have?

1: UX/UI design and wireframing
2: Empathy and understanding of audience and their needs
3: Ability to work collaboratively
4: strong portfolio

* What is a nice to have (but not required) regarding skills, requirements, 
experience, education, or certification?
Examples: Bachelor of Science; 4 year pharma, health care, or regulated industry
* Visual Design/Data Visualization Experience
* CSS Styling HTML experience

* What type of environment is this person working in?
o Group setting
o Individual Setting
o Combination of both**

* Work Schedule (Define days,# of hours)/ Is Overtime offered or required? If 
yes, how many hours, what impact to scheduled working hours? Standard work week 
w some flexibility

Interview Process

* Please define your required Interview Process (Phone or in-person interview) 
phone screen then in person interviews with 3 diff people (me, UX designer, 
tech lead, and short mtg with my manager w top candidate)
* Is there anything that may prevent you from conducting interviews in a timely 
manner (i.e. vacation, business travel, etc.)?: No, I am trying to push this 
thru quickly!
