Title: Project Manager - Blue Prism RPA Upgrade 
Duration:  5 months 
Location: North Chicago, IL

 

Local Remote until Site reopens - then onsite REQUIRED 

Primary Needs: 
. Position will reside within the Innovation, Architecture, and
Infrastructure team at AbbVie. 
. We require a Project Manager with knowledge of Blue Prism Robotic Process
Automation (RPA) technology and prior experience with project management of
Blue Prism Upgrades. 
. The project to be led is an upgrade of Blue Prism from version 6.6 to
version 6.10.1. 
. This Project Manager must understand Blue Prism and how to conduct
upgrades of the tool. 
. Candidate must also possess the ability to interact with a variety of
Director-level leaders across the organization, as this upgrade will take
place at an Enterprise level. Communication skills are therefore critical
for this Project Manager to master. 
. Strong project management skillset needed, including proven ability to
lead and drive project success. 
. Should be well organized with the ability to review and track the project
schedule end to end. 
. Must be a self-starter, able to manage a variety of tasks, and be able to
communicate to leadership. 
. Will conduct meetings with project team members and key stakeholders,
publishing meeting minutes. 
. Will manage weekly and monthly progress reporting, as well as tracking
project financials for budget adherence. 
. Experience managing project financials is a must for this role. Please do
not submit candidates without prior experience in managing project
financials. 
. Strong collaboration and communication skills required given the degrees
of complexity and change involved. 
. Will work with a matrixed AbbVie team and one AbbVie vendor (Cognizant). 
. Candidate should be an experienced (12+ years required based on this
grade) Project Manager with prior Infrastructure/Architecture project
management experience. This prior experience must include previous project
management experience of at least 1 Blue Prism Upgrade. 
. Contract to run for a 5-month period from candidate's start date (roughly
estimated to be 6/18/21 through 11/19/21). 
. Please note, while the position will initially be remote, expectations are
it will move to an onsite engagement in the near future. Do not submit
candidates who desire to work remote on a permanent basis. This is
non-negotiable as AbbVie transitions back to an on-site workplace. 
. Will execute and deliver in line with below expectations. 


Expectations: 
. Develop, execute, and manage project(s) within the defined scope. 
. Lead all aspects of the project lifecycle, working with project
sponsors/key stakeholders, team members, and management to oversee all
phases of project completion. 
. Build and manage project's work breakdown structure, milestones, risks,
issues, and deliverables within the constraints of human and financial
resources and changing priorities to ensure the successful completion of the
project. 
. Ensure transparent reporting of project status, issues, risks, and
financials. 
. The individual will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish
goals. 
. Performs a variety of tasks. 
. May lead and direct the work of others. 
. Be able to work under general supervision. 
. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. 

Specific Responsibilities: 
. Drive Project Success and Completion: Understand and drive leadership of
the project to success. Build key relationships with stakeholders, mentor
team members and demonstrate leadership at all levels. 
. Initiate and Plan Project: Works with business and IT management to
establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives, financials, and
deliverables. 
. Project Control: Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and
risks will affect the project, working with business and IT management and
sponsor to gain agreement for resolution. Measure performance to assure the
project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget. 
. Executing and Closing Project: Develops and executes a work plan obtaining
authorized resources to ensure all activities are performed. Leads team in
delivering project scope. Gather lessons learned and obtain final project
approval from sponsor and stakeholders. 
. Project Communication: Communicate project progress by producing project
reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support
information to project teams, business, and IT management. Makes
recommendations based on current project status to resolve issues and manage
risks. 
. Resource and Team Management: Coordinate resources to ensure project needs
are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members
based upon their abilities. Motivates project team to deliver project
outcomes. 
. Quality Management: Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate
and functional policies and procedures. 
. Decisions: Make decisions that impact project level activities. 
. Drive Continuous Improvement of Project Process and Governance: Will
continually examine Plans/Risks/Issues to identify gaps in project
communication or process, and holding project team accountable for
improvement, to drive proactive solutions as the project is ongoing.
Escalate issues that need Permanent Process changes. 


Qualifications: 
. Primary Needs on page 1. Please read in detail - these are required to be
considered for the role. 
. 12+ years of project management experience, a portion of which must
include prior project management experience of at least 1 Blue Prism
Upgrade. 
. Individual must be able to work full time; will initially work in a remote
setting, with transition to on-site in Lake County, at a future date
to-be-determined by manager. 


Preferred Qualifications: 
. Experience with using Clarity PPM. 
. Familiarity with Organization Change Management experience/knowledge. 
. Note: no requirement for PMP certification for this role. 
. Note: no requirement of Pharma experience for this role.
