Client: PayPal Position Title: Database developer Location: San Jose, CA Duration 12+ Months Contract Interview Process: Phone+Onsite Required Skills: Teradata, ETL, Informatica, Data Modeling. Typical Task Breakdown/Rhythm: Develop and maintain databases across the organization, while ensuring high levels of data availability. The Database Developer will in addition evaluate and advise on all technology components, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities, for database management systems and applications. As part of the role they will be responsible for implementing data dashboards to all levels of the organization. Years of Experience: * Skills Good working knowledge of SQL - indexes, normalization, schemas, stored procedures, and triggers. experience working on both Hadoop and Teradata. * Should be able to advice on SQL tuning best practices. Experience in data modeling and database design (OLTP, OLAP, and Dimensional), including star schemas and cubes. * Experience in Informatica and Teradata BTEQ is needed. Exp with Informatica Cloud is a plus. * Ability to write technical design specifications. * Should be able to do adhoc analysis and present findings through dashboards. * This also requires us to bring in new tools like Informatica Cloud, and identify opportunities in the existing system to migrate to INFA cloud. * Bringing new data from varied sources like SFDC, workday while accommodating for regional variance. We are looking to hire a candidate with the following experience. * 8+ years professional related experience or Master's Degree and 6+ years of 5+ Years of ETL development on Teradata, Hadoop and has experience with BI solutions Should have Data Model building and Architecture experience. * Conducts data analysis that is complex and requires input from multiple sources. * Demonstrated track record of developing creative solutions in product, process that delivered business results. * Experience in building platform and data solutions, defining services and applications * Strong attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
