Alabama's men's basketball team is back where it belongs - among the
nation's elite.
On the heels of wins over Utah and McNeese State, Alabama climbed three
spots in this week's ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll, to 19th.
At 18th, the Tide is now at its highest ranking in the Coaches Poll
since Feb 25, 2001, when Bama was also ranked 19th. Ironically, Alabama
wasn't even in Top 25 a year ago today. Bama debuted in the 2000-01
Coaches Poll at #22, on Dec. 11, after beginning the season 6-0.
Alabama plays UT-Chattanooga tomorrow night at Coleman Coliseum (8pm
tip-off on Fox Sports Net) before traveling cross-country to face its
third Top 20 opponent of the season (in its first 8 games) in the 2001
Wooden Classic, at UCLA.
