There need to be more ops in the irc channel #rubyonrails. These ops
need to be community personell who have a large-range of knowledge and
can help out the new people, as well as keeping the egos in check. I'm
tired of encountering people on the channel who are abusive and there

I nominate: melvinram, jschoolcraft, edavis10, linoj, JasonKing,
qrush. I haven't talked with these people about it, only observed that
they helpful.

Also, this should've really been on rubyonrails-talk...
I'd like to see this fixed:

, as it concerns Ruby 1.9 and Mysql.

It's too major of a change to make imo and there's just too many
tutorials/docs out there that reference Class Model
ActiveRecord::Base. To me, it makes sense that a model inherits from
ActiveRecord::Base because that's where a model gets its methods from.

Lifo's doc-rails github project was made for that purpose and it

At least 90% of the time I go to this site to see some information or
to link somebody to one of the pages, it's down. The page quality on
some of the pages isn't exactly up to wiki standards either and is
sometimes out of date.
What is the cause for this downtime and what can be done to
concur with Ezra on this. It's very nice to have the database config
in a single place that other applications in other languages can
easily reference.

How about we store the configuration in a c program, which rails has to
compile and then execute in order to read the correct data?
What I'm trying to say is that this process doesn't seem dryer at all. The
YAML file has become the standard and many, many tutorials reference this.
Do you not
plugin source, please check
this patch out and +1 if it looks okay.
Thanks

From what I call, Rails does not lose a connection when a StatementInvalid
error is thrown.
Can you prove this in a test?

For example if you tell someone to go into the blogs controller they
will look for a file called blogs_controller in the app/controllers
directory instinctively. If you tell someone to look for the
