FusionCharts makes a free version you can use. High Charts is another
solution although it is not free. It is however pretty robust, not very
expensive, and covers a lot of ground. The Google visualization api looks
very promising too. There are some others. google away...

I have integrated one reporting tool for my intranet RoR application.
I think it will be useful for you. That reporting tool name is will_filter.
