Perhaps someone can help me figure this out. I am trying to create an
elementary abelian subgroup of a symmetric group and then look at its
normalizer. Here's what doesn't work:
s6 = SymmetricGroup(6)
c1 = s6([(1,2)])
c2 = s6([(3,4)])
c3 = s6([(5,6)])
e8 = s6.subg

I am a brand-newbie. I tried to install the GAP packages and got an
error.
Sage told me to email this group, so here I am...
I am running Xubuntu ("Feisty") on an HP-Compaq nc4010, in case that
matters.
