We've just put up what will likely be the final release for MPIR 1.0.0. at:

* MUCH faster AMD K8/K10 assembly support
* Significantly faster Core 2 assembly support
* Numerous fixes which mean faster code/build support for other x86_64 systems
* Lot's more...

We are now just waiting on a Sage spkg and the usual testing that goes
with that, and we will declare it the final 1.0.0 release.

It helps if you can give the output of:

* gcc -v
* cat /proc/cpuinfo (if available)
