Could someone have a look at, and maybe give positive-review to https://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/27385. It would be lovely if we could get this fix in 8.7, and the patch I added only affects Cygwin. Bernard Parisse has said he will fix the issue upstream but I haven't followed through yet on wheth
