I just wanted to mention that the self-contained source tarball for Sage

among those listed at http://www.sagemath.org/download-latest.html. I've
noticed some sluggishness in this respect before, but this seems

If anaconda is already installed on my Mac (Mojave, 10.14.4 with Xcode
10.2), there is a problem compiling r-3.5.2.p0. I tried reinstalling
anaconda and recompiling but failed with the same error. The good news is
that after uninstalling anaconda, compiling sage-8.8.beta2 succeeded.
The crux
Compiling sage-8.8.beta1 failed on my MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017) running
MacOS 10.14.4, Xcode 10.2.
I had previously compiled sage-8.8.beta0 with no problems, but
sage-8.8.beta1 failed while installing package r-3.5.2.p0. The log file is
enclosed, but the following excerpt from the log file
I posted earlier when my application to join this group was still pending,
and that post seems to have gotten lost.

I updated my Mac to Mojave 10.14.4 with Xcode 10.2 before trying to compile
Sage 8.8.beta0. I don't have /usr/include on my machine. Compiling worked just
fine. This is great, thanks!
