On Ubuntu 18.04 running on Xeon E5-2623 + 16 GB RAM:

- incremental build (from 8.8.beta3, with -j16) completed but (as in Sage
8.8.beta1,2,3) with huge number of errors in building the documentation,
all with the same message:
[dochtml] UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec c
On Ubuntu 16.04, upgrading to most recent sage develop as usual, I can't
get the documentation to build. I can reproduce the issue after make
doc-clean. It stops at
...
[dochtml] installing. Log file: logs/dochtml.log
[dochtml] error installing, exit status 1. Log file: logs/dochtml.log

Build succeeds on my MacBook Pro, Mojave 10.14.4.
