Error building Sage.

I'm using VMware to use the virtual machine, and I kind of insist on using it
because I'm also using it with another application that requires VMware for
standardization of user experience.
But when I try to import Sage (by double-clicking sage-5.13), it goes through
the import then gives me

Try this:

quotes in spotlight (Command + Space)

I'm trying to install Sage from latest binaries to an Ubuntu 10.04
partition (sure it's an old version but the machine is not mine and I can't
upgrade). In order to run Sage, I typed ./sage from the command line and
readily got the following error message:

I installed Ubuntu 12.04 about 2 weeks ago along with Sage 5.
I just now tried using vectors for the first time and got this error...
