I will summarise what I have learnt from Nicolas Thiery:
If M is a monoid then the monoid algebra is constructing using
Monoid().Algebra() by, say, M.algebra(QQ).
For groups the construction GroupAlgebra is being replaced by a similar
G.algebra().
