hi wilfried, thanks for the infos. i also found a different git server on git.sagemath.org. this one seems to have sage 6.2 beta 2 or so in its repository. those install steps seem to work as well: sudo apt-get install binutils gcc make m4 perl tar git screen g++ gfortran git clone git://git.
