I met DanielF at a Konkani meeting the other day. His complaint -- and understandably -- was that Saligaonet was becoming rather inactive.
My suggestion: can every member post at least four lines one a week to this list? That's the price we have to pay for keeping things going, and build up the community. A clarification on Saligaonet rules: any content related to Saligao is welcome, and there is no moderating-out or blocking of anything on the basis of content. We only request (i) keep on track -- post content related to Saligao, the purpose for which this list was set up and (ii) be civil in your discourse, and post the kind of things you would have said in any polite discussion. Messages to Saligaonet can however get blocked due to a number of technical reasons. Including * If it is too long -- any message about 10K, if I recall right, will not go through (the solution is to post in plain-text only, and to break-up longer messages into shorter ones * Any message having a d m i n i s t r a t i v e words in it (for instance a request to s u b s c r i b e ) will be treated by the server as a command wrongly posted to the list, and thus get blocked from going through. With spam growing so phenomenally -- I get about 500 messages a day, about 70% of which is unsolicited spam -- I often just delete my mail on the servers itself, and don't get a chance to go through every bouncing message. If your mail doesn't go throug at first try, just post me a copy and draw it to my attention by marking your subject-line suitably. We'll definitely relay it on your behalf. This much for now. Keep active ... post at least four lines a week, even if to only say "I'm okay".
