While no effort has been spared by people in Saligao and elsewhere to make
their feelings known about the Salmona fountain, it sad to see nothing
come out so far.
At the end of the day, I think it all boils down to politics. While Dr
Willy is keen to ensure the support of some (possibly controversial)
individuals in the panchayat, it is increasingly becoming apparent that
the BJP and the Congress is trying to subtly show that the local MLA is
unable to protect the interest and concerns of his constituents.
Maybe we need to look more closely at the politics of those involved on
various sides, and why things have come to such a pass. FN
