Dear Sir,
Led by the Salmona Pariyavaran Manch, the villagers of Saligao will hold an all-Goa, peaceful dharna at the Salmona Spring, Saligao, tomorrow, Saturday 26th March, from 11.30 am onwards. The dharna is being held to protest and stop the illegal continuation of construction in plot bearing S. No. 103/92 situated about 40 mts. from the spring.
The said plot has been acquired by the Tourism Department with instructions to the Saligao Panchayat and other officials, to stop the work immediately (see Exhibits. Nos. 1-5).
Since the dharna will continue till work stops at the acquired site, we request you to please make adequate 'bandobast' arrangements to ensure that law and order is maintained and that no untoward incident takes place.
The dharna which is supported by other environment NGOs in Goa who will also be present at the dharna. Thank you.
