This is good to read. We were upset to read that article from the Navhind times posted a couple of days ago.

The need of the hour is really unity to solve this issue, more than anything else.

Hope the press conference went well.   I just think the more exposure the issue has, would be better as this would in a way put pressure

on those holding the reigns of power to do something about it.

Dear members of the Press and electronic media on Saligaonet,

The Salmona Pariyavaran Manch, Saligao Civic & Consumer Cell and
Nisarga Nature Club will hold a joint Press Conference:

Date:  Friday, 8 April 2005.
Time:  4.00 pm.
Place: T B Cunha Hall, Opp. Azad Maidan, Panaji.

The latest positions and handouts on the people's struggle to
save Saligao's world-famous Salmona Spring will be given out at
the Press Conference.  These will include:

-  a copy of the latest petition to the Governor of Goa signed by
1089 Saligaokars, on 1 April 2005.
-  the latest position of the government's acquisition
proceedings concerning the Salmon Spring.
-  the Tourism Department and Forest Department's plans for
the Spring.
-  Saligao villagers' conservation plans for the acquired area.

We thank you for your excellent coverage of the people's struggle
so far.  We hope you can be there for the latest updates.
