Aha! Well put my friends, couldnt have put it better if I tried.

Decibels of Sound is in the news nowadays especially in the medical
magazines, ..... according to which the modern generation will go deaf much
earlier than our ancestors or even us (in fact the ENT Drs. already have
patients in the age groups 2-30 with hearing problem rather than those over
40 because as you know parents of today take their small children with them
to every function since there is no one at home to look after them) because
of the high metallic sounds of music, discos frequented by them & general
noise pollution. If I'm not mistaken, the maximum decibel of sound our
eardrums can take is 90. I feel very sorry for the little babies kept in
their prams in the clubs & hotels with all the sound blasting around them! I
know that the loud music has affected my hearing to a certain extent - no
I'm not deaf but for my age my hearing is not 100%. No, I didnt frequent the
discos often, but attended a lot of dances where the sound was too much as
is always with these modern hifi bands, most people got used to seeing me
stuff cotton in my ears or in the absence of that in my bag, I stuff pieces
of rolled up tissue in my ears. Another cause is yelling of my son nonstop
for a no. of years - jokes aside, did you know that? it has been proved
scientifically, constant loud yelling of a child for hours can affect one's
hearing.

So though I wouldnt advocate a complete sound ban for Saligao.... exceptions
to be made at least 3 times a year, at least some control over the volume of
sound belted out is necessary. I guess that is why during the festive
season, the sound ban is lifted. So my original question about Fox's Nite
has been answered in various ways eh? Roll on December!

And Rico, you now have SaligaoNet active once again. Keep it up folks!
Maybe I'll think about some more innocent but loaded questions which get
everybody on the Net in a tizzy - heeee! At least it gets them worked up
enough to make their postings - Hey Ashley & Seby, thanks, you sure started
the ball rolling.

Here the HSSC results (Delhi Board) are out, some have done very well, - the
children of our friends. Congratulations to them! The results of the Goa &
Bombay Boards are due on 27th I think. Hope there are a few high flying
students of Saligao amongst the toppers. Let us know please.

Have a nice day
Regards
Annette
