You can also setup SMTP2POP3 which tests if a message can be sent/received on the Notes server. You'll have to create a dummy account on the server for SMTP2POP3 to send/receive with, but it's a very valuable tool to make sure that mail is flowing. Details are on the ServersAlive add-on page at

I do not fully understand your question but if the cable ip is down and you want after an hour or so to make it come back up (by way of a batch file) you can set an alert to execute the batch after 12 times (depending on your time between checks) down. Does this answer your question? -Origina

I'm a registered user of Salive version 3. (I know I need to upgrade, will soon). I have it running on a 2000 server. So far so good. Can I install version 4 (in a different directory) along with version 3, or do I have to uninstall version 3 first?? Also I have a dial-up account & cable account.
