The field is called checkdatetime and thus gives the datetime of the last
check...so it's giving the correct value...

"Text to speech would be hard to implement"?
Let me get this straight: it's easier for me to go find a microphone, hook
it up to a PC, and record 3 or 4 voice messages than it is for me to check a
box that says "Text to speech"? I'm going to beg to differ on that one.

Hehe, your "Pleease" made me think of Bugs Bunny.
Text to speech would be hard to implement. I was just thinking of using
these alerts for when something really bad happens and SA can't route
email out to the outside world (ie, phones, blackberries, etc). It
would be only 3 or 4 messages--
We use Servers Alive with a product called Attention.
It is a little pricy, but has nice functionality. Attention uses phone line
to send text or numeric pages, can also send emails and make phone calls.
It also has phone interface to check/set status of an alert, lets you leave

Please don't make me record a wav file for every single alert.
Text-to-speech would be a lot better, so that it would read the alert and
say, "This message will now repeat" and read the alert again.

We've also attached a modem to our SA machine, we just have it call our

know something really, really bad happened.

Peter,
I was of the same mind a few months back. The config I went for is

I've been using Servers Alive for a while, but so far have just been using
it to send e-mail based alerts to a cell phone: one page when a server or

Works great as long as the network itself is up, and the primary and/or

I have it running, modem contention is an issue. So I rely on Servers Alive
for the pages and use Insight Manager to send email alerts, along with
Servers Alive. I have not tried multiple modems.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
