WAN connections will definitely add delay particularly if you are using the native disk space checks. Since these require credentials and a login sequence a lot is going on. You may want to use SNMP checks instead and see if the performance improves. Again do the registry change. I have mine se

This is exactly the problem I was having that I didn't describe this way, with the high CPU utilization. This exact thing happens to me as described below, and my CPU is at 100%. Dave Bruck - Original Message - From: "Fisher-Titus Medical Center" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Septembe

Lots of the checks are disk usage and cpu usage and mainly over wan connections, hence the delay, I think?, each check seems to take several seconds at least. I think multithreading the checks is the only answer? I will also check the registry setting to see if that helps Dave -Original

It sure does. I'm at 1600+ and a full cycle(not everything is checked each cycle) is 12 minutes. Definitely reduce the time between checks, it makes a huge difference. Look at non-critical items that do not need to be checked each cycle(disk space, printer page counts, etc. I check these once an

I probably should not jump in without more details, but ... I am running SA on an ancient server that is a piece of garbage. It is doing 530 checks in 7 minutes. An hour sounds like an awful long time. Jim Ferrell EDS - Allison Transmission 4700 W 10th St Mail Code 462-470-H04 Indianapolis, IN

There are several answers. * in the current version (5.0) all checks are done one after the other * you can decrease the time between to checks, by default it's (if memory serves me well) 250ms, it can be lowered to 100ms (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DBU Consulting\Servers Alive\StartUp\PerItemCyc

Yep the idea is to have an XMPP alert. We didn't continue with it last year because at that time there were no real big names using it or officialy supporting it. Now that Google uses it we will try to add it.   For the moment the logon to Google is already slightly different then the normal

As google is just using XMPP/Jabber are we going to see full jabber support at last?   I recall this was tested a while ago but nothing seemed to happen. I could really do with this now. We use Jive Messenger internally only and don't use any other 3rd party messenger systems.   I'm happy to

Hi! We use ServersAlive to check the status of several servers. Some of these checks uses a long time on finishing, resulting in a long total time for each round. Is there any option in ServersAlive to optimize each roundtrip? Is there any option for each such check to run as a separate thread, th
