Although I think the trap receiver should be a good way to go, I also sometimes
separate some of the more critical checks into its own instance to reduce check
cycles. Just a thought.

I have a lot of software checks that take time to process, so the 1,2,3 minutes
between checks becomes 3,4,5 depending on how fast some of these checks
respond. I am currently at 270 checks, and I haven’t even gotten 1/3 of
my environment entered into the program, and as of last week. We just a

Anthony,
Perhaps if you tell us your concern as to why you do not was to rely on SA
polling, someone could think of a solution you might not have thought of?
I have SA poll our environmental device using OID’s every 2 mins pulling
back a temp value. I’m not seeing how a 120 second +/- del

In this particular case I want an APC unit to send SA a trap so SA will send me
a email or SMS message saying an event occurred. Or another scenario have an
environmental sensor send SA a trap saying its too hot in a room, and have it
trigger SA and send me a message. Instead of waiting for SA
Nico,
Had the same problem, solved it by letting the check depend on a check to a
batch file.
The batch file checks time and a run once flag and gives an errorlevel to SA.
It is not exactly on time (depends on how long your checks are running) but it
will only run once within a decent time
Without putting it into maintenance there is no option for it.

I can't figure out how to do a check one single time at 7:00 AM, is this
possible without putting the check in maintenance for the rest of the day?
I've tried to set the check-hours to 7:00-22:00 ( So I can see it's up during
daytime) and only once every 500 checks starting at t

Hi Anthony,
What is it that you are trying to do?
Let SA send traps to your snmp receiver (like kiwi) or just let SA check a snmp
value from a device and alert if that is incorrect?
