I assume by your comments below that you are talking about diasbling the
NetBEUI protocol, but leaving 'NetBIOS over IP' active. To allow you to
connect to a server with NetBIOS over IP you would either need to be running
WINS, or have LMHOSTS files on each server.

Sounds like an ideal candidate for WSH (Windows Scripting Host). If you are
NT 4 you'll need to install WSH - freely available from Microsoft.
As it happens, I have some source code I can send you... (deletes files
older than X days old, but can be tailored to move them...)
