At the moment we are using the modem solution like
As for the modems, we use a Tornado usb-modem and don't have any trouble with sending
SMS.
We are currently testing the time it takes to send/receive the sms.

Does anybody know or have experience with the SMPP/SNPP protocol ?
We are looking for a provider (preverably in The Netherlands) who can assist us in
using this protocol instead of using a dailup to a SMSC.

I'd like to support the request Brent is mentioning.
It's not just the fact that a server is down or in maintenance thats important.
Furthermore there should be some kind of possibility to log the actions taken on an
alert. For example: server 1 is down, action taken: email to it-department.
