Title: Which Windoze?
I noticed a huge increase in speed and stability going from

probably where the big impact was.

Hello Gang,
Maybe I missed something - but I see I can turn on the SNMP Trap receiver, but I don't see anyway of configuring it to respond to traps received - where can I find info on this?

That'd be absolutely wonderful - it'd be another notch away from our other
monitoring tools and another one added to SA. Keep up the good work Dirk! I
shall rid my company of WhatsUp one of these days!

For me it asks me to agree to a license first, then shows the page with

What's the easiest way to allow people to remotely set several checks into maintenance mode? I'm mulling over several possible ways in my head, but I'd like to see if anyone has done anything simple and quick like I'm trying to do, thanks.

I upgraded our company on the day of release (to a different server

to work great - haven't had the time to explore the new options

I must admit, it seems to run the checks a LOT
Did you compile in SNMP and all? If so, then you'll need to edit your snmp.conf

Well I'm doing it with SA's NT service check, but since you're not running on NT it
won't work for you - though the other way I listed below should - plus it's a more
accurate check, since the port will be open and the service up yet no messages are

If you would use the TCP syslog sending and have the Kiwisyslog accept TCP message,

Is it true that in SA v6, it will have the ability to telepathically

Well, a lot of people that run a web balancer like Weblogic

Quick Question,
We have an app that runs it's SNMP at a nonstandard port, is there a way to allow SA to query an OID on a different port? If not, can it be added to the wish list? Thanks!

The sloppy way would be a termserv connection to the server
running SA (Assuming SA will be on Win 2003 and you rdp with /console switch) -
just bring sound to this PC. Like I said though, it'd be sloppy. I'll mull it
over though as it's a good idea

Most of the external apps built on top of SA access SA via telnet. The first step would be to enable telnet in SA, telnet to it and start playing around!
