There is a free Notes addon (http://www.woodstone.nu/salive/addons.asp)
it can check if a Notes db is up or not.

A suggestion (based on info I found on the internet but NOT tested by me)
create a new TCP check (ctrl-p screen) called "Lotus Notes" (or whatever
other name you want to give it).
Packet to receive on connect: check the "anything" option and leave the
field empty

Check port 1352 to determine if the server will respond to the Client
interface. Check the defined ports for HTTP/SSL/LDAP or others if you have
these add-in tasks running on your Domino server and want to verify their
availability.
