how about setting up a print that prints to a file. When you send a job to it it 
should then pop up and ask you for the filename. Create it as a Generic Text Only and 
it may work.
 
In the past I've created ones with Laserjet 4 as the driver and then used a program 
call Imprint to view the PCL file.
