fine from the disks on the machine with samba but not write with it.

i am running samba 2.2.5 (compiled with --with-ldapsam) with ldapsam backend
(openldap 2.0.23) as pdc under debian testing distribution. joining the
domain works fine! when i login win nt tells me that it only found a low
bandwith network connection (although it's 100mbit) and ask

smbclient -L 192.168.1.100
That will give you a list of shares on the host. If that doesn't return
anything, you probably forgot to restart your daemon or are having other
networking issues.

Anyway, here's my questionI've recently put together a Linux Server for
our company, replacing an old Novel server. I have the box set up with
Samba, as a PDC on our network. So far, just about everything is working
correctly.
When I researched it I found an article where they said that the version for
2.4.7 was buggy. The recommendation was to upgrade. I've successfully done
this for use with Samba, so I know it works. You can still download the
older versions, there's a link off the site to them.

I'll offer this without asking what your setup is.
In the Global section, add:
oplocks = no
level2 oplocks = no
kernel oplocks = no
Then killall -HUP smbd
Then killall -HUP nmbd
to force Samba to reread the config file.

What format do the dos client drivers deliver the print job to samba in?
Just saying use client drivers doesn't mean your server won't try to filter
it if it goes to the wrong queue, I THINK.
What type of queue is accepting the print jobs on the samba serve

the transfer rate is really slow, not that there is a delay due to the
windows clients holding the jobs before they send them?

printers. Maybe can be the LPD! there is a delay (about 10 seconds) when the
linux is starting the service! (LPD).

under the user's home directory called "profile", and the local profile syncs with
