No. Samba will check (and reload if necessary) your smb.conf once a
minute, I think.

called ~/.samba.conf or ~/.smb.conf or whatever, where a simple user can
maintain his own shares, probably under his own home dir. Is it possible

I have changed nothing, my configs are all the same.
Winbind works perfectly, but I receive (bad encryption) errors when the
authentication happens in smbd.

We tried to upgrade from samba 2.2.8 to 3.0 and got the following problem.
We have set samba to be the PDC of our domain (no BDC). And it works fine in
2.2.8
Upgrading to 3.0 using the same smbpasswd file and now when people try to
