i use samba 3.0.1 pre1 squid 2.5 stable1
i edit smb.conf krb5.conf nsswitch.conf
squid works fine.
samba pdc works fine too.
net join domain - ok
wbinfo - u = ok
wbinfo - g= don't work.

I spent an hour each day for the last week trying to get an XP machine to
join a customer's Samba domain. Every time I tried, I got a message stating
that the Samba domain was unavailable.
Naturally, I wasted a lot of time trouble shooting Samba to see what was
wrong.

This question has risen before. I have an idea I have never tried, but it
sounds reasonable.
Have a share on your windows client with a file called Run_it or somesuch.
When this file is moved to another folder in the share, a daemon on the windows box
spots
the file in this folder and does whateve

for *nix? We've been using it for several years on 3 production samba boxes and
BE8.6 running on an NT server. Speed is much slower than the Veritas agents on
NT, and a bit slower than non-agent

anymore.
The clients seem to continue to connect and so I get even more dead
