I just upgraded to a RH 9 box and now offline files and synchronizing isn't
working on my XP clients.
My XP clients keep getting access denied error messages when their laptops

Page 76 of the Samba HOWTO has some options, but says they deal with
Heimdal before 0.6. I tried then anyway, and it still didn't work. I
also found that the reverse DNS wasn't working, but fixing that didn't help.

When I compiled on Solaris 9 this problem seemed to go away if I put in
/usr/local/lib in LD_LIBRARY_PATH and then re-compiled. I'm not entirely
sure that's what fixed it but you could try it if you want.

All you have to do, is to use LDAP and set proper account policies:

I believe it is possible. Try using winbind, and see if using the
command "passwd" will change it. I believe it will. Winbind appends the
unix local user list with the domain user list, and fools the local
machine into thinking they are local users... but I'm not sure if you

I have the same problem with my samba as you had login in with a Win2k into
samba.
I was looking for an answer but don't find any. Did you solve the problem?
And if you did how did you do it? It would be a great help for me to set up
