I'm using Whiteboxlinux which is compiled from the red hat EL 3 source. I used the samba-3.0.2-6.3E.i386.rpm and if I run a smbd -b, it doesn't show any entry for ldapsam_compat. Don't know if this is correct or a good test, I'm definitely not an expert. Hope it helps. Have a good day Simone ---
