server should "offload" print jobs to another samaba server
that is mangeing the Local printer pool, however when I sumbit to the

I've attached an Apple XServe to our Windows domain, and have successfully
setup all the Active Directory integration.
I've been able to expose a file share to Windows via Samba from the XServe,
but it's still requring a guest account login.
For example, when i try and open
\\xserve\AppStorage
If you have kinit'd a ticket for your w2k Administrator account you
should just use "net ads join". If your kerberos and smb.conf are
correctly configured, you should be able to join the domain. "net rpc
join" uses NTLMSSP which can be seen in your log (fails because you
didn't give a password).

I had a similar problem under Samba 2.2 (before I upgraded to 3.0).
Basically, I found that I hadn't created my necessary users and groups
with the correct user ID's, RIDs, and GRIDs.
Do a pdbedit listing of your samba users and groups, and compare the
requirements with the requirements

I've got an issue with a samba 3 PDC with an ldap backend. I get a logon
failure (unknown username or bad password) when trying to add a win2k
box to the domain. I'm using Mandrake with Samba 3.0.2a and openldap 2.1.22.
I am able to set up the workgroup on the w2k box, and access folders for
