I have installed samba-3.0.9 on AIX5.2.
I am trying to join the windows domain after starting the smbd, nmbd,
winbindd services.
When I run "/usr/local/samba/bin/net rpc join U

Bob,
I tried copying the failing directory on my Windows machine to make a "backup"
copy of the failing directory. When I tested it as I had before, it ceased to
fail. I copied the original to see what would happen, and the "Delayed Write
Failed" disappeared there as well. Now I haven't had the

Hi!
Does this sound familiar, before I try to look deeper into it?

I'm confused by this statement. The attributes displayName and sambaSID
are not relevant to a POSIX group, so t
I am trying to run the following command and keep getting the same

Hello,
When a user is defined in admin users, Samba will always do file
operations for this user as root. In my case when these users creates
a new file or directory root i defined as owner of the new files as
well. When only accessing the files through windows, this isn't
usually a problem, but o
Hi Carl,
I am having the same problem now. I am using Fedora FC-3. Have you ever
figured out the solution for this problem?
Thank you very much,

Hi all,
Apologies if this has posted twice, I've only just found out how to post
to a moderated group and my first attempts didn't work.
I'm new to this newsgroup and quite new to Linux in general. My Samba
ver 3.0.7 (under Mandrake 10.1) used to work happily linking to my
Windows ME machine. Aft
I'm betting you using the lin98sk-driver (which is typical for built in
networkadapters on athlon64 mb:s). I think I pulled all my hair off
trying to solve the same problem a few month ago. It's just so typical
when you change all your hardware, upgrade the software and then run
into problems.
