Hello,
I've asked this question before, and somebody helped me after
sending my logs. I thank them very much. I've solved these problems but
I still can't join the domain. I cannot see any major problem in the
logs except the logging user cannot be found in the ldap DB but it's there.

Hello,
I've been attempting to get this working all day. :)
I have an RHEL3 machine connected to a Windows 2000 PDC

Thanks for your responses.
However, since that time, a large amount of work has been done on the

further work in this area.
Are these part of the samba-latest tarball that's downloadable from

NTUSER.DAT is the running registry file for the user logged onto the
machine. Each user instance creates a new NTUSER.DAT file located in the
profile directory. While the user is logged into the machine you will NOT

Hiya, I have never tried to copy the NTUSER.DAT file before but if i would
need to i would go about it by either using the recovery console, by
putting the drive in another windows pc or by using the ntfs fs module on

Have you tired any of these methods ?

The smb.conf should go in (prefixpath)/lib/, in my case that was
/usr/local/encap/samba-3.0.21c/lib/smb.conf. The make install doesn't put
a blank smb.conf file in that dir, so that's what threw me off.
