You can setup file servers as domain member servers to samba pdc.
and configure nss_ldap on the file server so that it can get users and
groups
from samba pdc. The example configuration is given in the samba documention
of samba3-By example in 2000 users documentation.

I noticed a few days ago running Samba 3.0.20b on Linux that if I had a
file called "myfile" that was owned by "userA:groupX", writable by
userA but read only for groupX
0744 userA:groupX myfile
and that file was in a directory "/directory2/myfile" which was writable
by the group "groupX"

I have installed samba4wins with samba 3.0.21 and I don´t know how to
configure it (I tried what says the howto.txt but it didnt work). I
wanted to know if someone has alredy used samba4wins and made it work.

I haven't tried that but, samba is correctly logging into the ldap via
rootdn and executing queries. Also I can use it via phpldap admin. samba
uses ldap to auth share accesses and works flawlessly. Also as a note,
slaptest and paramtest (or parmtest I do not remember) returning success
