Hi all;
I'm having a problem due locking of files using smbmount (or mount -t smb).
My samba server used with Windows locks allright, overthise, I have a
LTS server that runs a 16-bit system (via DOSEMU) that just don't get
the files locked (just ignore their status).

I've got a linux machine that is on a seperate network from a windows

the windows domain server. They have opened a port between our network

I just tried that, it allows me to unmount as a common user using the
umount command. One issue solved, thanks for that!
However, it does not help with the fact

You need to add some sort of script to change passwords, smbldap-tools work
for this.
Install/configure smbldap-tools, and add the following to smb.conf
add user script = /opt/IDEALX/sbin/smbldap-useradd -m '%u'
delete user script = /opt/IDEALX/sbin/smbldap-userdel '%u'

Please read the documentation. Samba3-HOWTO.pdf is a good start. You can
obtain it from: http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/Samba3-HOWTO.pdf
The utility you need to master is called 'pdbedit', but before using it please
read up on user rights and privileges and on policies.

Dear
I have the following Problem:
we have a windows domain (WIN2000 SP1), and a samba Server, acting as a
mere client. So the WIN-DOMAIN is just used for user-to-group mapping
and user authentification.
Authentication on the samba-Server works, ACL inheritance works.
What I would like to do,
Suggest you check to see if there are any glibc updates for your FC4.

Dear All,
I use Samba 2.2.12 on an embedded linux system as a server and a windows xp

cable (I have also tested with a normal network cable).
Everything works well such as connection or small files transfers but
I'm encountering a nasty file locking problem on my development system.

Hi,
I have made a share on my normal harddrive which I can access from my
Windows client with no problems. But when I mount my USB harddrive and
shares it, I can't access it.
I have also tried to make a softlink from my normal share to the USB
harddrive, but the directory does not show up,

Hi,
I resolved my problem by using radius, but I think ntlm_auth was running

pipe, and it was accessible to root (quite normal, as far as I know...)
Thanks for your help
