I'm unabe to use idmap_ad and sfu nss info with Samba on AIX. The
configuration as it is works on a Linux build.
workgroup = DOMAIN
realm = DOMAIN.TLD
server string = SERVER
security = ADS

idmap config DOMAIN:default = yes

I've been using Samba for about 7 years of so, but have hit a hurdle I
just can't seem to figure out.
I want to setup samba domain member servers to be members of a samba
3.0.25 (NT4 type) domain. No windbind, LDAP, or any other of the more
complex authentication mechanism. This is the same f

What is the best way for smbd to shutdown for whatever reason?
For example, I want samba to shutdown whenever it receives a trans2
setfsinfo smb/cifs command with say an invalid info level, instead of
returning an error.
Not sure whether putting exit call in default case would suffice, because I
I'm having an issue adding a sambaSamAccount objectClass to my machine
accounts when running smbldap-useradd -w "machine$"
It doesn't create samba attributes, but will create the account.
In the smbldaap-useradd code, sambaSamAccount is sambaSAMAccount, but I
don't know if that's what's doing

You can turn off roaming profiles on the XP machine...

(skip the first part...)
This way, even if you define "logon path" in the smb.conf, it won't.

Hello,
I am developing a Java application that requires me to read from and
write to a samba share. When developing in a windows environment this was not a
problem. I mounted the share as "M:/", built a path to a file, checked if the
file exists using the Java function file.exists(), and

Depends on your backend. LDAP has entry for this, with tdbsam you can

Hi,
we have a Samba 3.0.24 server on a Fedora Core 5 system and we use it as PDC. I
have client machines with Windows XP SP2.
What I want:

I tried the fol

Before I did that, I'd get Bad User/Password errors on the windows
server. At least now Windows sees it working.
It seems like my problem is that CIFS authenticates

Hi,
I got the following entries in the /var/log/messages file:
nmbd[3718]: process_local_master_announce: incorrect name type for
destination from IP 192.168.0.10 (was 1d) should be 0x1e. Ignoring
packet.
Do I have to worry about these at all?
