I´ve got a snow leopard in a MacBookPro completely updated
I´ve got a pc with Debian Testing completely updated with samba 3.3.4
and a NAS dlink dns-323
From windows, ubuntu, debian; on both servers and all resources (
publics and privates ) connects withouth problem; but from the snow
Now, TOSHARG-GroupMapping.xml translate to Japanese finished(3.4.0 base).
And 1 typo found.
Versions of Samba-3 prior to 3.0.23 automatically create default group
mapping for the
literalDomain Admins, Domain Users/literal and literalDomain
Guests/literal Windows

I create a file or a folder ... sometimes works, sometimes not
THEN: If it works I try to rename the file or folder. It does not
*ALWAYS* work. Sometimes it does. More often it does not. WinXP throws
access denied. I played around with the parameters nt acl support =
no, directory mask,
inherit permissions = yes
I've never used inherit permissions but I do have inherit owner set
and I don't have any problems with delete access.
I did have a problem like this when I first set Samba up, but I can't
remember what the solution was. I *think* it had something to do with
# smbclient -M Client01
Connection to Client01 failed. Error NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME
but:
# smbclient -L Client01 -U myuser

That's a bit odd. What happens if you use an IP address instead?
I'm new to SAMBA, so I apologize up front if I ask a dumb question!
We upgraded from solaris 8 (samba2.2.8a) to solaris 10 and installed
samba 3.2.4. When user tried to use samba, they got Failed to open
/usr/local/samba/private/secrets.tdb. I thought maybe the file just
needed to be there,
I've been using Samba on a Sun server but we recently discontinued using the
Sun and switched to using Samba on a RH linux server. I can't get file
sharing to work on the new server. When I test the connection to the samba
server (velar) by running smbclient //velar/homes -U eric I get an
