running Samba 3.4.5 on AIX 6.1. Our Terminal Server Profiles are kept on
a samba share. When a user creates a file locally in C:\Documents and
Settings(or whate

This is a case in your smbldap-tools: "add user script=
/usr/local/sbin/smbldap-useradd -m %u"
Put in the right arguments that fit your system.
I think also your passwd change wont work this way:
passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
passwd chat = *New*UNIX*password* %nn *ReType*new*UNIX*pas

I have checked for both net setpassword and samba-tool

Hi,
last weekend I've updated samba and ctdb on my 2-node cluster. Samba is
now on 3.5.6 (from 3.3.4), ctdb on 1.0.114 (from 1.0.84). Both installed
from repo via yum and ctdb-packages.
After restarting both nodes everything was fine, we could access files on
the cluster.

I do not want to force _all_ users to become joe. There are several
users and each of them must be able to use two different windows
accounts to connect to the share:

I have Samba 3.5.6 running patched with the ACL jumbo patch. When checking
the properties of directories under a Samba share, I do not see differences
in the mapping of users and permissions for directories from the un-patched
version. I still get "CREATOR OWNER" and "CREATOR GROUP" showing up in

I have Samba 3.5.6 working, now I am interested in ensuring that the file
transfers to/from my server are robust. I have seen some threads on file
corruption and I wondered if there are recommended setups for Samba and the
server to make the file transfers as reliable as possible; cache flushing
