Problem:

After wasting 2 days on this ; I removed 3.5.6 then installed 3.4.9...
And getent passwd properly shows everything :(
So something is broken in 3.5.6

I had the same experience.. for me the problem is only on member
servers, and only with getent group (getent passwd works)

I have set up a two node workin gluster with glusterfs3.1 and Samba-Sernet
3.5.
Everything is working great except MSOffice files (Word/Excell). On the
gluster-vol they have the strange behavior
