I've the following goal to reach : modify the attribute userPassword via
a Java method in a Samba LDAP tree.
I successfully changed the SSHA password in the LDAP.
But I can't open a session with this new password. It seems, that
sambaNTPassword et sambaLMPassword must be changed too

First, I am not sure if this is a problem with samba or a misconfiguration
somewhere along the way in AD. Unfortunately, I am a little peon on a large
campus who is trying to use samba, so I have to figure out how to make samba
work with what is in place.
I am using samba 3.5.8 on Ubuntu 11.04

There are some winbind issues in 3.6.x. The one affecting me can be

idmap_ad issue from last week in 3.6.x:

none of the client on window can see the share drive on AIX.
the error said window cannot access servername .. i know it is group policy
causing the problem and

I've got a problem CentOS-4.9 Samba server that we have never been able
to join to an existing Win2K3/Win2K8 AD domain correctly. We have before
and since installed Samba successfully on other sites btw. We actually
have 55+ CentOs-4.9 Samba servers world-wide with identical configs -
