We have a cross platform environment with a Windows 2008 server running Active
Directory and many of our workstations are running ubuntu 10.10 using winbind
for user authentication. The version of samba running on these boxes is 3.5.4
We are looking to upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04 which runs samba 3.

I joined a samba 3.5.10 server to a samba4 active directory domain. Windows
clients can't browse the root of the servers shares (\\192.168.10.10 ) but
they can access the shares if I manually mount them.
The following command works on the server that samba 3.5 is running on.
smbclient -U admi

it's possible that the Out of Memory problems is because the SND/RCVBUF
is too small ?
