i use samba 3.025c
testparm says that "passdb expand explicit" is deprecated
but it seems to be working (i mean if i put %N in sambaProfilePath with
passdb expand explicit set to yes, it is expanded)
my question is : is this option deprecated?
according to releases notes, only default

I had same problem using ldap on sarge with samba 2...
after stopping samba with init script smbd process remaining...
upgrading libnssldap resolve my problem

i am using samba 3.0.25c on sarge
i try to allow domain users to edit directory permission on public share
with XP client using using the native security dialog box.
with these share properties:
nt acl support = yes
directory mode = 2777
force directory mode = 2770
