I have this problem too. I noticed that in Samba version 2.2.3 this problem
doesn't happen, but in Samba version 2.2.8 I can't change the password.
I don't know what the problem is. Maybe this information could help you. And
if you find out the problem, please let me know.

You are changing the computer name in the same time of domain.
When you try to put your machine in a domain, the computer name sent to
samba server is George and not accounts.
You must change your computer name first and after put it in a domain, and
of course you must create your account

This problem is happening due to your logon scripts are imcompatible with
windows.
You should create your logon scripts in windows and put them in Unix's home
directory. Use Notepad to do it.
