Hi Dudes,
I have a samba Version 3.0.23d that has successfully joined
our Server 2003 ADS domain.
# wbinfo -u shows the users
# wbinfo -g shows the groups
And I can chown/grp directories to NT users & groups.
However, # net groupmap list only shows

Hello. It's me again. Downloaded Samba source and compiled it with LDAP
and pam_smbpass options. Of course it didn't work. The Changelog and the
INSTALL clearly point to this only working with smbpasswd. The LDAP code
has not been incorporated. Wouldn't call this a bug but more like a

Hi,
We have an Exchange server (server 2003) that is a domain controller and
a few Samba file servers that are not part of the Windows domain. The
Samba servers use their own LDAP directory ( ldapsam backend with
pam_ldap ) that is synchronized to one openldap directory server but is
not synchroni
troubleshoot?

I have what I believe to be a working samba installation using ldap as the back
end. The set up is workgroup only -- no domain. Can someone tell me how root
might change a user's samba password at the command prompt? I read pdbedit man
page and saw nothing about changing passwords. Thanks.

Hi,
Everything I can find about using the ldapsam backend seems to imply that samba
will be used as a domain controller. Is it possible to use ldapsam as the
backend and have just a user level security workgroup?
Thanks.

tions. Right now I only
have each subnet's browse list visible on its subnet, Except for the samba
WINS servers which are visible on the subnets that have the Samba servers but
not the S2003 subnet.
Samba server firewalls have ports 42,135,137,138,139,445 all open all protocols.
Thanks
Hey People,
I am getting this error on Windows client after bootup:
The system cannot log you on now because the domain LANGROUP is not available.
After waiting a few minutes, I am then able to log in. What causes this delay?
The client is XP with SP2 beta (maybe SP2 is the problem?)
Thanks,
I realize this is question more for the Debian or pamldap lists but I
written to those with no response. Also I can find very little on this
subject on Google.
Any help appreciated,
Thanks,
