controller I see nothing about a browse sync. Could someone point me in

As far as I know, the behavior of your network will be that clients
? If so please give
some kind of example. I am really trying to learn why and get a
better understanding of wins, and this will put me in the right
direction.
If you need more info on the network, just ask. Although I feel this is
more of a concept question to help me get it.

Samba4 I believe.
Being that you SAMBA developers had to work so hard to reverse engineer
the AD protocols. Will there soon be improvements and more full
featured functionality in SAMBA now that you have access to more
documentation? Is anything on the order of a fully feature AD clone in
that want to see each other in browse lists use the
same WINS server.

´ve had the same problem... try using force security mode = 0660
(of course you can change the 0660 as you need)

I have a group folder on my samba server that has 770 permissions
and to inherit permissions. All but one user can read and write to
all files with no problem. I have the smb share set up to change the
group name anytime a file is added. When this certain user creates a

I ve noticed a lot of talk about profile sharing.
Could someone tell me or point me in the right direction how I could
share a profile among three users all win2000 workstations. I created
a profile on machine A and want B and C to also use it without having
to copy it over by hand.
If you put the three users in a group and give that group what ever
unix premissions you want, set the other premission to non, leave what
you have in the smb.conf file, that should do it. You should not have
to map the unix group to a windows group for read write exec stuff. I

I have just installed samba 3.0 on RH 9, when I try to access swat I get an
error The Connection was refused when attempting to connect to contact
127.0.0.1:901. I have set up the swat 901/tcp in /etc/services and the swat
file in xinetd.d I have also restarted xinetd. I don't know what else to
