We have a HP b2600 Workstation, with HP 110x UNIX system, at our work
place. Currently it is lying idle and we would like to utilize it.
Is it possible to put Samba on this machine and use it as a PDC using
the samba suite?

fine. I happens from all the workstations working with Windows but not for
the workstations with Linux installed.

I have installed the latest 2.2.6 SMB client and Server on a Red Hat 7.2
distribution.
Now the problem is that the clients connection from Windows PC whenever
they save any files to the shares on the Linux File Server (Samba) PC, the
date appears to be 4 1/2 hours ahead. E.g. If the ac
languagaes folder english.h file..

We have a windows NT PC as our PDC. Currently planning on migrating to
UNIX / Linux.
For testing we have put up a Linux Red Hat 7.2 System, with Samba 2.2.5,
which I configured on it. Now the problem arises when the users for Linux
want to access to Windows NT computer. If they are not
p/drivee vfatdefaults0 0
Please advice on how to access my Windows drive with writeable
permissions. I have given the /mnt/wp folder full permissions with 'chmod
777 /mnt/wp'.
