Hi, For one of my clients, I've configured Samba 3.0.10 on Solaris 9 as a Domain Member Server.
However, users from the Windows side can only establish a Share if they have a local UserID established on Solaris, otherwise the Share attempt fails. >From the Solaris side, I can "see" the Windows domain information via the "wbinfo -g" and "wbinfo -u" commands, however the "getent passwd" and "getent group" commands only display information from Solaris, no information from Windows. The smb.conf file does have ranges for "idmap uid =" and "idmap gid =" present, and /etc/nsswitch.conf has been updated to include "winbind" for the "passwd" & "group" entries. I'm sure there's a simple resolution, and I'd appreciate any help on this.
